Om half 4 worden we gewekt en na een vlug ontbijt gaan we om kwart voor 5 richting vliegveld. Na de vlucht van Delhi naar Udaipur met tussenlandingen in Jaipur en Jodhpur, komen we om 11 uur vm in ons hotel aan. Na de lunch vertrekken we richting Sam woestijn voor een ritje op een dromedaris om in de woestijn de zonsondergang te zien,		After lunch we go to the Sam desert for a dromedary-ride to watch the sunset in the desert.
Hier lacht Ria nog, maar voor haar was dit "eens maar nooit weer". Ze gaat later, samen met nog vier reisgenoten, te voet terug naar de bus. Ik rijd na zonsondergang alleen onze drommie terug.		Ria is still laughing here, but it was "never again". Afterwards she walks back to he bus with four travelcompanions. I'll drive our drommy back after sunset.
Zo rijden wij dus 40 minuten door de woestijn op weg naar een mooi punt voor de zonsondergang.		The way we ride for 40 minutes through the desert towards a nice view on the sunset.

Het Samode Palace, deels museum, deels hotel, waar we lunchen. Uitstekend! Hier hadden we wel willen overnachten, maar dat kan De Boer & Wendel niet betalen, zegt de reisleider. Na de lunch bezoeken we het Jantar Mantar Observatorium, waar we helaas niets mogen fotograferen (2000). Onze reisleider past bij de ingang op alle camera's. De Lakshmi-Narayan tempel, is een zeer fraaie moderne tempel, in 1985 geschonken door de rijke Birla familie, derhalve beter bekend als de Birla tempel.		The Lakshmi-Narayan temple, is one of the many such temples built by wealthy Birla family in India, thus it is also known as Birla Mandir.

Sariska Palace gelegen tegenover het National Park, was het in 1902 gebouwde jachtslot van de maharadja's van Alwar, het is thans een hotel.		Sariska Palace, opposite the National Park, built in 1902, was a hunting-lodge of he maharajahs of Alwar, currently it is a hotel.
Sariska is een 800km groot tijger-reservaat, sinds 1958 een National Park, sinds 1979 vallend onder het Project Tiger ...		Sariska is a large tiger-reserve, a National Park since 1958, and declared as Project Tiger in 1979 ...
... we zien hier: sambars, axisherten, nilgais en apen ...		... we see: sambars, axis-deers, nilgais and monkeys ...
... tijgers laten zich echter zelden zien. ("Gisteren waren ze er nog." Hebben we dat niet vaker gehoord?)		... tigers are seen seldom or never. ("They were here yesterday." Haven't we heard that before?)

Fatehpur Sikri werd tussen 1570 en 1574 gebouwd door keizer Akbar. De stad werd in 1585 weer verlaten wegens gebrek aan drinkwater.		Fatehpur Sikri was built by emperor Akbar between 1570 and 1574. The city was left in 1585 due to lack of drinking-water.
Sinds die tijd is het een goed bewaarde "spookstad".		Since 1585 it is a well-preserved "ghost-town".

Vandaag bezoeken we de Taj Mahal. Toegangsprijs voor Indiërs 10 rupees, voor toeristen $10 + $11 tax = $21. In USDollars te betalen, de tegenwaarde van 1000 rupees werd niet geaccepteerd. De toegangsprijs voor monumenten schijnt gebonden aan een wettelijk maximum van $10, slim omzeild door de rest "tax" te noemen.		Today we visit the Taj Mahal. Zomaar een plaatje terwijl we stilstaan voor een stoplicht. Vandaag rijden we van Agra, via Mathura, naar Delhi. In Mathura, de geboorteplaats van Krishna, mag niets gefotografeerd worden.		A snapshot while waiting for a traffic-light. Today we drive from Agra to Delhi via Mathura. In Mathura, the birthplace of Krishna, all photography is prohibited.

In de avonds van dag 15 vliegen we van Delhi in India naar Kathmandu in Nepal.		In the evening of day 15 we fly from Delhi in India to Kathmandu in Nepal.
